This is fantastic: a customer service tip sheet for booksellers that could have just as easily been written for readers’ advisors. And because it reads like a readers’ advisor tip sheet it 1) makes me fall in love with bookstores all over again and 2) reminds me that online bookstores will never quite nail it. For me, even some sort of uber-metadata AI can’t match the one-on-one value of a great bookseller. Or librarian. And that is good.
